I purchased this book as a textbook for my political ideologies category. Heywood will a decent job of providing a solid and (mostly) neutral overview of a number of the a lot of common ideologies, including: Liberalism, Conservatism, Socialism, Fascism, Anarchism, Feminism, Nationalism, Ecologism/Environmentalism, and non secular Fundamentalism. every chapter provides a quick history of the ideology, its main "thinkers" and contributors, its core principles, and variations of opinion amongst its supporters. At the tip of every chapter, Heywood provides his opinion on what he thinks the long run of the ideology are going to be, and what challenges it's going to face. All in all, i feel it's a superb place to begin for anyone who is wanting to urge a broad overview of the a lot of distinguished political ideologies.
